Download Supergirl: Season 1 [Blu-ray] 1080p BluRay x264 DTS-JYK

Didn't know what to expect but when the first episode premiered on CBS in 1080i it was the best channel for HD. Supergirl happens to be part of the DC Universe and their sister station appears to be KBCW which also airs Arrow and The Flash and now DC's Legends of Tomorrow. These three shows have been stimulating so far. The first season and second season of Arrow were pretty good story wise. DC's LOT is shaping to be pretty good but I feel they made need to add a few more legends into the mix. At the moment The Flash is the best show so far thanks to the Time Travel and Earth 1 and 2 and Multiverse storylines.

Back to Supergirl. I found the Season Premiere actually got me tearing a bit in some parts very similar to Brandon Routh's Superman Returns (A shame they didn't give him another movie) sequence with the airplane save. The musical score also deserves credit for its emotional impact. If Season 1 is any indication of them keeping the quality up I can see this getting easily approved for a second season. I liked the fact they brought on Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) to play her foster father and Helen Slater (Supergirl Movie 1984) to play her foster mother. These Super people related actors add to the authenticity of the show.

Melissa Benoist who plays the current Supergirl does a remarkable job making you like her despite her social awkwardness. Helen Slater's version had a very naive, trusting, and innocent take on humanity which I also liked but the very bubbly Melissa Benoist's version of Linda Danvers is just as lovable. It's interesting how she spills the beans of her true identity from the get go instead of the typical superhero hidden identity only known by the hero/heroine and parents we typically get stretched out. Not that wearing glasses and bunning your hair is really that much of a obvious difference in facial structure to keep your identity secret. :)

I see the next episode will feature the Flash crossing over to Supergirl. Can it get any better? I hope to see Supergirl crossing over to the Flash or other DC shows as well.

I think this show can easily get up to three seasons and more if it can continually provide better storylines as it matures. If anything I would expect a huge female fan base to help keep the show going. There hasn't been a female superheroine on TV that I can remember since Linda Carter's Wonder Woman. There was a possible Wonder Woman TV show with Adrianne Palicki 5 years ago that never got to air but I'm glad Supergirl made it which may pave the way for Wonder Woman to return in the future.

I'm definitely awaiting to buy Supergirl on Blu-ray when it comes out. I would like them to also release a Blu-ray version of the Helen Slater Supergirl movie from 1984 which would add to the hype of the show. Although Supergirl the movie didn't quite excite as much as Superman 1 and 2 did it still has a fond place in my heart.

Here's a hint combine Supergirl Season 1 with Supergirl the movie as a special Limited Edition Blu-ray combo release. Personally I'd buy both individually but if it can help generate sales to combine them I see it as a win win.

It would be interesting if this series when it ends one day they can have Melissa Benoist do the Supergirl movie or even consider making the Supergirl movie while the TV show is still on the air during its hiatus. Think X-files and you know what I mean.
